Pre-game:

The return of the MAN, the MYTH, the MALICKI!!!!!! This was going to be like the pop from the first Crow Sting appearance, the NWO Hogan flip, the glass crash from Stone Cold”s music. THIS WAS IT!!!!

The game tape:

Someone forgot to let Mike know that the season actually started. Mike couldn”t get it going, but also never found it, en route to an 0/21 shooting performance. His frustration boiled over even getting into an argument with league good guy, Jimmy Zeitz. Mike wasn”t the only one that struggled. Mike “All I Do is Win Win Win No Matter What” Salvait looked lost away Dadbods going scoreless, but did pitch in with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. We here at Grinders HQ also enjoyed watching him yell at league villain Cole after causing a turnover. GM Chuck Thomosulo didn”t shine for his team either. Chuck went 3/10 and only hit one 3. Jeff May went 5/13 but often looked lost on the offensive end as he rarely touched the ball. All was not awful for First Date though. Young Guy Peyton shined in the season opener. He was extremely efficient shooting 9/13 for a game high 19 points to go along with 9 boards. Peyton was constantly slipping through the fingers of First Ballot E and getting to the hoop with ease.

The Long Con was given the 4th best odds to win the league according to AD Curt. He may have to readjust those odds after this week”s performance. The Long Con played feisty “D” led by Jimmy”s massive effort in controlling Milicki. Justin “On the Warpath” Gerardi and Jon “AARP” Urbaniak gave Salvati and Chuck fits on the offensive end. Helmet and Jon even scored the same amount of points as Salvait and Chuck (6pts) on 9 less shots. Jon added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal as well. Captain E was running and gunning efficiently and knocked down (3) 3”s en route to a game-high 19 points. Jimmy chipped in 10 points while running the offense of the Long Con to go along with 7 rebounds, a few assists, and a block. Cole had an unremarkable double-double doing the bare minimum and riding other Grinder”s coattails to victory.

Post-game:

Does the league smell blood in the water and dare to doubt Mr. Milicki? Congrats to Captain E on his first coaching/captain win since the turn of the millenium. Is Peyton “I”m the Man of the House Now” Urbaniak the next Grinders big thing?
