Recap

Things continue to heat-up as playoffs approach. Everyone”s after a bye, seeding, or the right to play Eskimo Bros. in the first round (de facto bye). The intensity in this game shows it.

Kellen”s squad finally had everyone which should make them very dangerous, but they looked a little out of sync with how their offense was going to flow, and with their sub patterns (Who didn”t sub?). Chuck was missing league icon Jeff “Championship” May as well as notorious stud Mike “Walker with Tennis Balls” Milicki.

This was a pretty well played game back and forth. Easy looks were hard to get as the defensive intensity was pretty high. Chuck led his team with 18 points on the strength of 4 made threes. His shooting opened up lanes for Peyton “Close the Gym Down” Urbaniak (14/7/4/2) and Mike “Flying Forearm” Salvati (12/11) to get plenty of looks near the basket. Peyton”s slash and dash style was very effective against the much slower Jets defense as he got to the rim whenever he wanted. Salvati”s hustle also proved to be a problem for the Jets as he continually got to loose balls first.

The Jets countered with a very methodical approach. The posted-up the much smaller Chuck”s using Justin “I Don”t Deliver on Wednesdays” Rybinski. Wednesday was the most I”ve ever witnessed him in the 3-second area (thought he had a paint allergy or something). Justin had 22/10 on 29 shots but seemed to be bothered by constant double teams. Depending on matchup, Tommy Hughes even became a post presence against the smaller Chuck. Tommy had an excellent game (22/17/3/3, 29 GAPE) with most coming at the basket. Kellen had 10 points as “el cap-i-tan” and Zach “Hump You into Submission” Newberry grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Jets pulled away in the second OT behind 8 straight points from Justin and Chuck”s Tinder Warriors couldn”t recover.
