Recap
The prime time game. The 8:30 game. The showcase game. The most viewed Grinders game of the week. The Fox national game of the week. Stars everywhere. MVP candidates aplenty. Multi-time Grinders champions as far as the eye can see. WTF HAPPENED?!?!?!?!!?!? Richie “Coffee Black, No Sugar or” Creamer scored 17 of his team”s first 21 points on some stupid 7 of 8 shooting. 5 minutes in and the game was literally over. When Richie is staring down Mike “$100 bill” Milicki after draining jumpers, you know it”s going to be a long day. Speaking of Mike ” All About Losing the Benjamins” Milicki, let”s just say that was rock bottom. 4 of 27??????? Yikes! The former MVP will pull it together I”m sure (???????????). Jon “Bang Bang” Tirado had an equally poor effort going 4 of 21, where the only banging was the sound of his shots bouncing off the backboard. Curtis “I Climbed the Wall to Play” Maisch had a game high 24 points on his typical sub 40% shooting. This reporter noticed most of which came in garbage time. The “Odd Couple” of Mr. and Mr. Vaillancourt were 3 of 20 but provided the highlight of the night. Mr. Vaillancourt threw a no-look pass off of Mr. Vaillancourt”s shoulder and face (who wasn”t looking), almost leading to his death. Heroically, Ford attempted to lead his team back from the depths of despair, taking over in the game”s final 6 minutes. He single-handedly is responsible for closing the final margin to a razor-thin 16 points, once he decided to “go to work”. A true leader and inspiration that the rest of his team should look up to.
Over-reaction Thursday outlook: rematch in the finals.
