Recap
If the 6:30 shooting disasterclass was agonizing to watch, this game was … slightly less agonizing? Tall Justin led the way for KO’s squad, scoring his weekly double double with 10 and 12. You would think both of those numbers would be higher since Justin is literally 7 feet tall. Tommy had a highlight reel fastbreak finish over GAPE God Gersitz, racked up 9 rebounds and 5 steals. The former Dadbods Kellen and Zach contributed handsomely, both notching a GAPE of 10. Now sitting at 2-0, the KJetta’s team gets the 0-2 Eskimos and will almost certainly beat the spread, which will be at least 25 points. They beat a formidable squad without their walking triple-double Big Josh Lanzot. It may be a while before they find themselves in the loss column … it must be that Dadbod in them.
Shockingly, Mike G. couldn’t fully drag the Crazy Al – led No Names to a win – he only had 13 points, but contributed in every stat in typical Gersitz fashion. Al actually led his team in scoring with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Mark Doyle took a lot of shots and made 3 of them, and also contributed in every stat to a much lesser degree. Cory had a respectable 6 points and 10 rebounds, but more importantly only had 1 airball! This game felt like it should’ve been a lot better than it was – both teams shot 62 times, and the key difference was Kellen’s two three-pointers. We’ll chalk it up to an off night on both sides, but again, I’ll take a boring close game over a boring blowout.
