Recap
Ohhhhhhhhh the debut of Mike” Bryant Reeves” Ford as captain. We”ve all been waiting for it since his season-long GAPE brag from last year. When you talk you better back it up. He did not. His team did not as they got walloped. Jon “1/2 of the Cash Cousins” Tirado was 0-14, Nixon was 1-12, and Ford (in all his glory) was 0-4. It felt like Blue Balls was playing 1 on 4 as only Grant “Euro-soft” Decz did anything. Decz dropped a huge 34-10 line on 57% shooting. If not for him this might have been the biggest beatdown in Grinders history. With 2 minutes left in the game Blue Balls had 3 players who had failed to score. Ouch.\r\n\r\nTeam Curt was the beneficiary of a historically poor Blue Balls team. They got out very quickly and the game was never in doubt. The story of the game was Rookie of the Year candidate Mike “Mute Button” Gersitz. He had maybe the greatest Grinders debut ever sporting a 20-14 line on 71% shooting and keeping the “big” guys on Blue Balls quiet-ish. Mind you he did this all while channeling his inner monk and taking a vow of silence. Damn impressive.Team Curt welcomed back KO from his Grinders hiatus as well. E chipped in with 13 points, Helmet shot an efficient 38% from the field (same as Curt). The biggest question for Team Curt is if Curt will have a second Great Wall of China built by the end of this season. Stay tuned this Wednesday for another episode of “Bricklayers”.
