Recap
This had the makings of a classic Grinders grudge match……until both legends Tommy “The Tantrum” Hughes and Justin “Rick Smits” Rybinski backed out late like cowards. It did however feature long time rivals Cole and Witt who tagged up with Cole”s former teammate Jeff May. The game started off featuring something most Grinders haven”t seen in a long time, Jeff May dropping buckets without mercy. Team Hughes got off to a quick start behind May and seemed to be rolling easy. Pink made a defensive adjustment switching Cole to May and Eric “Little Cousin” Carlson onto Witt. This made a HUGE difference as Team Hughes forgot how to put the ball in the basket and The Dark Side finally found its shooting stroke. AK47 and Matt “I fu@$ed your wife too.” Vaillancourt each went 50% from the field and made big shots down the stretch. Carlson ran the point like a savvy Grinders vet getting everyone involved. The game was close late but a couple of fouls allowed The Dark Side to run out the clock and escape with a 6 point win.
